the ask
Help the Department of Violence Prevention visualize and communicate the process of obtaining a domestic violence restraining order.
This was a highly collaborative project, the team was made up of two strategists, myself and our client's partners: domestic violence experts, survivors and community leaders. Together, we mapped out the current system with all its barriers and tried to envision a future that better supports survivors.

“Isabela was instrumental from the start—asking the right questions, helping our team and client frame the approach to scoping, bringing out new ways of thinking for our participants and helping us tell the story through visual design. Isabela transcended the traditional designer role and stepped into a strategist role to move us forward at every step.”
“System mapping has taken a complicated process and provided a visual to make this information easier to understand as well as lighting a path forward. I feel that the process and assets have already started us on a pathway to improve the systems involved in issuing a restraining order.”
